Well, it is official; I am starting a new job. Some of you may find this as old news, but I've realized there are a lot of people out there that don't know. I hesitated mentioning it before I had more information about my new position. Anyway, starting January 5th, I will be leaving Boeing SM&P and will be working as an Application Analyst for Boeing's UK TLCS program. Sure it's a bunch of acronyms that I'm sure you don't know, and really wouldn't mean much if I explained it to you.
What this really means is that my new job is exciting, with a skilled group of computer people, and is based around computer science! :: gasp :: Officially what I am responsible is being a focal contact for the RAF (Royal Air Force) to contact Boeing regarding problems with communication to our TLCS (Through Life Contractor Support) computer systems. I'm not responsible for actual changes to Boeing systems, but rather monitoring them and adding input as to the effects it would have to the customers.
Assorted perks are a moderate raise, a personal laptop, transfer to one of the "good buildings", and last and certainly not least, a 2 week trip to London to meet with my customers. So, from January 13th - January 28th I will be in the UK. Expect some great updates around then.

Bob Slydell: What would you say ya do here?
Tom Smykowski: Well look, I already told you! I deal with the goddamn customers so the engineers don't have to! I have people skills! I am good at dealing with people! Can't you understand that? What the hell is wrong with you people?

I'm not sure if there's enough room in business class to fit you. There's too much leg room and champagne holders to fit someone else.
... BAM!
