My new Store

I've been gone the past week, as you may have noticed. I finished construction on my store in Piqua, Ohio. It was a lot of work and effort, but suprisingly much more enjoyable than working in a cubicle. I got to Do something... build shit, clean, and most importantly watch my efforts manifest into reality.

And So it Begins...

It's that time of year again... expecting an inch or so into the coming afternoon; highs in the mid 30s.

Damn... I'm so cold.

Still Cold outside

Yes, You guessed it. 18 inches of snow on the ground. Who would imagine that the first winter I spend in Ohio has the largest single snow storm in recorded history. Isn't that just dandy. It's been 6 days and the roads arn't even clear yet. You'd think a place like this would know how to plow roads, but the public works dept. isn't run by the mob, so they don't accomplish anything ever.

However, snow covered corn fields don't look so bad at 8 in the morning as your driving to work. (yes, that's my commute, through corn)

Happy New Year

I hope everyone enjoys this new year, and forgot about the last by consuming large ammounts of alcohol. I actually found a reasonable place to hang out for the New Year(except the exorbant $15 cover charge). It's best comparable to a bad frat party minus the 'ruit. Fat chicks dressed pretty, bad BAD beer, and a slippery dance floor. If anyone comes to the Dayton Area, I'll give you a tour.

Temporary Housing

So here is the story. Mike Adler, former CEO of Moto inc. is moving to a new house in Utah. His current residence (trotwood, Ohio) is up for sale, and has been for about 1 year. He is moving to his new house in the next coming weeks, and rather than leaving his house empty, he is looking for someone (me) to house sit for him.

Apartment Hunting

Well it was an exciting weekend, filled with many a things. These 'many things' shall be talked about later when I don't have 'many things' to do.

Meg and I went to about 5 different appointements that we had for housing, and it was all the same stuff. I wanted to live in the 'historic Oregon district', but as I could have guessed, that meant that you were lucky if the house was wired for electricity. Forget adaquate windows or floors that you could consider eating off of.

So I changed directions, and found where I am planning to move. It's an old warehouse building right in the middle of downtown. The area is called the "historic fire district" because of the fire department, or at least I hope.

I think it looks really pretty, and the rooms I am looking at would have (2) of those large windows.

The places arn't exactially the biggest, but I think it will be fun experiencing city living for a bit.

OMG AW3S0M3

Yes folks... I have great news. Not only has Dayton Ohio be listed on slashdot, but it was for a good reason.

Article:

As the article clearly states, Dayton Ohio (specificially the area I am planning to live in), has FREE WI-FI!!!

I am accepting applications for roomates.

btw. those that use this article as a chance to slam ohio for it's other shortcomings can kiss my ass.

One thing I'll miss

One thing I will miss about Ohio are the amazing sights. Where else do you get to see three people in a pickup truck with nascar stickers all over it, beer cans in the bed and rust all over?

Nowhere but...

I SEEN it

After you live in Ohio for a while you get used to the common questions that everyone asks to instigate small talk. I'm sure it's the same for people from another country, or people with big scars.

"What's it like over in Germany?"
"Did you get mauled by a dog?"
"Why don't you hang out with chicks from Ohio?"

That was always my favorite. Women from Ohio.

Transformation Complete!

IMG_0953.jpg

Yes, that is my car, compleatly over burdened. I managed to get Cyanne, Alice, and myself along with WAY too much stuff in my car, while towing not just my trailer, but my trailer loaded with even more track stuff that was supposed to fit in the trunk!
